The Rowan Organisation is a leading Direct Payments, Personal Budgets and Personal Health Budgets support organisation. We are committed to the empowerment of disabled people by supporting them to overcome their barriers, be they physical, institutional or attitudinal, which prevent them from achieving their objectives, or which limit their choice and prevent them from being in control of their lives.

Payroll/Managed Accounts Administrator.

£17,681 - £20,541 per annum pro rata 37 hours per week (Job share will be considered), pension scheme and childcare voucher scheme.

Main Duties

  • Support people in receipt of a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget by managing their payroll account to support them to gain independence.
  • Maximise the opportunity for self determination and to work in a way which empowers people to take and maintain control of their own lives.
  • To maintain the administrative requirements of this post, both in paper and electronic format including the use of the organisation’s IT systems and to ensure that information for individuals is presented in an accessible format that is specific to individual requirements.
  • To provide telephone liaison with service users and outreach staff, verifying and recording messages through our CRM system and raising activities accordingly.
  • To provide an accurate payroll service operating sage payroll whilst liaising with HM Revenue & Customs in relation to the administration of the PAYE scheme.
  • Processing all statutory payments on behalf of service user and giving support in all aspects of Auto-Enrolment Pensions.
  • To raise invoices, receive payments, issue receipts and record all payments received against the appropriate account.
  • To process and verify purchase invoices and payments to PAs on behalf of service users in accordance with their instruction.
  • To process all statutory payments on behalf of service users, in accordance with their instruction and within the stipulated timescales.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • GCSE A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Sage Payroll
  • Sage Accounts
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access and Outlook)
  • Employment Law and Legislation knowledge
  • Good communication
  • Excellent and confident telephone manner
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work without close supervision
